The Student Hubs Ethical Internships Scheme offers all this, and more. We match students who want to make a positive social or environmental impact with ethical organisations who make this possible. Internships take place during the summer break and this is your chance to make a difference whilst gaining work experience, an insight into the not-for-profit sector, new contacts and new skills.
Placements take place in university holidays and last from 4 weeks to 3 months. The organisations that students intern with through Ethical Internships are some of the most innovative charities, NGOs and social enterprises in the UK. Organisations who have been involved in the past are the Overseas Development Institute, Age UK, the National Trust, Housing for Women, Tree Aid and Ethex. The work students do on their internships also ranges, from communications and marketing to research and analysis.
Getting into the not-for-profit sector is difficult, so we're trying to make it easier for you to get experience and work out what you do (and don't!) want to do in your career. Student Hubs selects a group of 60 outstanding students looking to get experience, and then places them into charities, NGOs and social enterprises as interns over university holidays. As an Ethical Intern, you not only have the great experience of working on your placement, you also get training and the opportunity to meet lots of likeminded people in the sector.
